Position: Hardware Engineer
Location: Fremont, California
Responsibilities:
- Participates on a project team of engineers involved in the specification, design, development and test of hardware;
- Responsible for board and product level architecture, design and hardware debugging;
- Write board and product level engineering documentations;
- Works with software engineers on software/hardware integration;
- Designs CPLD’s and FPGA’s and eventually ASICs;
- Drives problems resolutions with Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers;
- Coordinates the process of formal EMC and Safety certifications.
- Interacts with Technical Support group in order to resolve issues with customers;
- Interfaces with Pre-sales and Product Marketing Engineers to understand customer problems and requirements;
- Interfaces with QA to provide enough information to perform the quality tests;
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced people.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSEE with 7 to 10+ years related experience;
- Good communications skills.
- Ability to read and digest architectural documents, industry standards document and create detail design documentations;
- Strong VHDL coding skills to implement general board logic, standard and proprietary interfaces;
- Strong board level design skills including CAD tools knowledge (Mentor Graphics and Cadence tools);
- 5-7 years ASIC/FPGA detailed design and architecture definition experiences;
- Strong ASIC/FPGA to PCB signal integrity skills;
- Working performed without management direction;
