Company Description:
200 people. The company has developed, and holds exclusive patent rights to, a manufacturing technology that will dramatically reduce the manufacturing cost of a variety of electronic devices. The technology, called Fluidic Self-Assembly, permits the efficient assembly of Integrated Circuits into a variety of substrates, from glass to flexible plastic.
The basic principles behind FSA are very simple. In the FSA process, specifically shaped semiconductor devices ranging in size from 10 microns to several hundred microns are suspended in liquid and flowed over a surface, which has correspondingly shaped "holes" or receptors on it and into which the devices settle. The shape of the devices and of the holes is designed so that the devices fall easily into place and self-align. Alien has demonstrated the assembly of tens of thousands of devices in a single process step.
Job Description:
Communications Digital Signal Processing Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
Design digital signal processing algorithms for clock, bit, and symbol recovery across a wireless communications channel. Collaborate with antenna, RF, and analog signal processing engineers to define new algorithms for multi-path mitigation, noise cancellation, and spectral estimation. Construct digital phase locked loops and digital automatic gain control logic. Evaluate and adapt standard FIR/IIR and advanced and adaptive digital filters for optimal filtering. Optimize existing and develop new algorithms for digital demodulation and wave shaping for spectral optimization.
