Summary:

Ariba Spend Management provides a functionally rich solution that empowers businesses to quickly and securely engage all users, suppliers, and systems; efficiently manage every aspect of their enterprise-wide spend; and rapidly leverage their spend to obtain exceptional bottom line savings. The Ariba Contracts product is a key part of the Ariba Spend Management solution. This position is with the Contracts Engineering team responsible for identifying and building out new features and function that allow our customers to bring spend management advantages to more and more of their spend process. The candidate must be able to work with product management, quality assurance, UI development and documentation to develop complete, high quality application features.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of software components that enhance or extend the reach of Ariba's solution. Specific projects might include developing object model, application logic and graphical interface to support new business process. The engineer will work with User Interaction Designers and Product Manangement to gather requirements, write functional specifications, and subsequently design, code, test and implement the software.

Knowledge and Skills:
Technical Qualifications
□ BS or MS in computer science with 3+ years of experience
□ Solid command of OOD principles with skills in Java
□ Two year experience working in a commercial product development environment
Non-Technical Qualifications
□ Demonstrated ability to take initiative and run new processes in an existing team
□ Follows good coding standards
□ Experience interfacing with customers and technical support
□ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable
□ Experience with XML parsers
□ Database experience: SQL, schema design, query optimization, migration
□ Domain experience in enterprise software, financial software, ERP systems, or eCommerce solutions
□ Knowledge of HTML, _JavaScript, CSS
